About the clinic
APEX Brain and Spine Surgical Centre is a specialist neurosurgical practice at Parkway East Medical Centre providing comprehensive assessment and treatment of conditions affecting the brain, spine and nervous system.
Led by Senior Consultant Neurosurgeon Dr Chou Ning, the clinic provides specialist care across cranial and spinal neurosurgery, including brain and spinal tumours, cerebrovascular disease, cerebral aneurysms, skull-base conditions, pituitary tumours, complex spinal disorders, neurotrauma and selected paediatric neurosurgical conditions.
Patients are assessed from diagnosis through treatment planning, surgery where required, rehabilitation coordination and specialist follow-up. Located within Parkway East Medical Centre, APEX provides patients in eastern Singapore with convenient access to specialist brain and spine care supported by the wider hospital environment.
Consultations take place at the specialist clinic. Where surgery, advanced imaging, hospital admission or other hospital-based treatment is required, these are arranged through the appropriate hospital facilities according to the patient's clinical needs.
Not every patient referred to APEX requires surgery. Specialist assessment aims to establish the diagnosis, determine the severity and cause of the condition, review the available treatment options and recommend an appropriate course of management, which may involve observation, medication, physiotherapy or rehabilitation, further investigation, minimally invasive treatment, surgery or long-term follow-up.
