About the clinic
Chou Neuroscience Clinic is a specialist neurosurgical practice providing comprehensive assessment and treatment of conditions affecting the brain, spine and nervous system.
Led by Senior Consultant Neurosurgeon Dr Chou Ning, the clinic provides specialist care for adults and children across a broad range of neurosurgical conditions, including brain and spinal tumours, cerebrovascular disease, cerebral aneurysms, skull-base conditions, pituitary tumours, complex spinal disorders, neurotrauma and paediatric neurosurgery.
Dr Chou's practice spans both cranial and spinal neurosurgery, from specialist consultation and imaging review to complex operative treatment and long-term follow-up. Patients may be seen at either Farrer Park or Gleneagles, with investigations, surgery and hospital-based treatment arranged according to each patient's clinical requirements.
Not every patient requires surgery. The purpose of specialist assessment is to establish the diagnosis, determine the severity and cause of the condition, review the available treatment options and recommend an appropriate course of care, which may involve observation, medication, rehabilitation, further investigation, minimally invasive treatment, surgery or long-term follow-up.
Frequently asked questions
Not necessarily. Not every patient seen at Chou Neuroscience Clinic requires surgery. Specialist assessment establishes the diagnosis and its severity, then recommends the appropriate course of care, which may be observation, medication, rehabilitation, minimally invasive treatment or surgery.
Yes. If you already have MRI, CT or other imaging, you may bring it for specialist review. Second opinions can be given on diagnosis, surgery, treatment options and previously proposed neurosurgical management.
Yes, where clinically appropriate, for example to discuss an existing diagnosis, review imaging or records, for second-opinion enquiries, overseas patients, or follow-up where a physical examination is not essential. An in-person examination or further investigation may still be needed before a definitive diagnosis or treatment.
Consultations are held at Farrer Park (Connexion) and Gleneagles Medical Centre. Please state your preferred location when booking; the location is confirmed when the appointment is made.
