Vaginal, Urinary & Breast Symptoms

Walk-in

Vaginal discharge, itching and burning when passing urine can have several causes, including thrush, bacterial vaginosis, urinary tract infections and sexually transmitted infections. The doctor examines you and tests where needed, so treatment matches the cause.

Breast pain, a new lump and mastitis are assessed the same way. A suspicious lump or a possible abscess is referred promptly for imaging or to a specialist, and follow-up visits can be booked.

  • Vaginal discharge, thrush and bacterial vaginosis
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Swabs and urine tests
  • Breast pain and new breast lumps
  • Mastitis, including while breastfeeding
  • Referral for breast imaging or to a specialist

Pregnancy Tests, Preconception & Fertility

Walk-in / By appointment

The clinic can confirm a pregnancy and assess early symptoms. Pain or bleeding in early pregnancy needs prompt checks for an ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage, and we arrange ultrasound and specialist review quickly when needed.

If you are planning a pregnancy, the doctor can review your health, medicines and vaccinations and advise on folic acid. If you have been trying to conceive without success, we start the first tests and refer you to a fertility specialist when appropriate. IVF is not done at the clinic.

  • Pregnancy testing
  • Early pregnancy assessment, with ultrasound arranged through partner providers
  • Planning for pregnancy: health review, medicines, vaccinations and folic acid
  • First fertility tests for you and your partner
  • Referral to an obstetrician or fertility specialist

Period Problems & PCOS

By appointment

The doctor looks for the cause of irregular, missed, heavy or painful periods, with blood tests and an ultrasound arranged where needed. Treatment depends on the cause and on whether you want to become pregnant.

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) can affect periods, skin, hair, weight and fertility, and raises the risk of diabetes. We help you manage it over time, with a plan built around what matters most to you.

  • Irregular or missed periods
  • Heavy or painful periods
  • Bleeding between periods
  • Blood tests and ultrasound arranged where needed
  • PCOS diagnosis and ongoing care
  • Gynaecology referral when needed

Contraception: Pill, Injection, Implant & IUD

By appointment

The doctor talks through the options with you, checks your medical history and blood pressure, and helps you choose a method that suits you. Pills and the contraceptive injection can be started and reviewed at the clinic.

Contraceptive implants and IUDs (copper coils and hormonal coils) can be fitted and removed by a trained doctor at a booked appointment. Difficult removals are referred to a specialist. For emergency contraception, see our sexual health services.

  • Combined and progestogen-only pills
  • Contraceptive injection
  • Contraceptive implant fitting and removal
  • Copper and hormonal IUD fitting and removal
  • Contraception reviews and changes

Cervical Screening

By appointment

Cervical screening looks for early changes in the cervix so they can be checked and treated early. The doctor chooses a Pap test or an HPV test based on your age and history.

If a result is abnormal, we explain what it means and arrange a referral for further checks, so the result is followed through.

  • Pap test
  • HPV test
  • Explanation of results
  • Referral for colposcopy after an abnormal result
  • Advice on when your next test is due

Menopause & Pelvic Floor

By appointment

Hot flushes, poor sleep, mood changes and changes to periods are common around menopause. In a longer consultation, the doctor talks through your symptoms and the options, including hormone treatment where suitable, and the risks and benefits for you. Blood tests are done only when they help.

Bladder leakage and a feeling of heaviness or a bulge in the vagina can be signs of pelvic floor weakness or prolapse. The doctor examines you and can refer you for pelvic floor physiotherapy or to a gynaecologist.

  • Perimenopause and menopause symptoms
  • Hormone treatment and other options
  • Bladder leakage
  • Prolapse assessment
  • Referral for pelvic floor physiotherapy or gynaecology
