Dr Vida Chou
General Practitioner
Dr Vida Chou is an experienced general practitioner at Family Health Medical Centre in Ang Mo Kio, with a clinical career centred on comprehensive, long-term care for individuals and families.
Family Health Medical Centre has served the Ang Mo Kio community since 1993. Over the years, Dr Chou has cared for patients across different stages of life and developed long-standing relationships with families spanning generations.
Her practice encompasses the breadth of family medicine, including acute medical care, chronic disease management, preventive health, health screening, vaccinations, women's health, dermatological conditions and the care of older adults.
Dr Chou has undertaken additional postgraduate training in several areas particularly relevant to community medicine. She holds a Graduate Diploma in Geriatric Medicine, reflecting a particular interest in the complex medical and functional needs of older patients, as well as a Graduate Diploma in Family Practice Dermatology, strengthening her experience in the assessment and management of skin conditions encountered in primary care.
She has also completed a Graduate Diploma in Basic Ultrasonography in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, complementing her longstanding experience in women's health and general practice.
Her interest in skin health extends into doctor-led aesthetic medicine. At Family Health Medical Centre, she provides selected aesthetic treatments following appropriate medical assessment, including injectable aesthetic treatments, medical laser treatments and selected radiofrequency-based skin procedures.
Dr Chou's approach to medicine is grounded in continuity of care. Rather than viewing each consultation as an isolated encounter, she places importance on understanding the patient's medical history, family context and changing health needs over time.
This is particularly important in the care of older patients and those living with chronic conditions, where treatment often requires coordination of multiple medical issues, medications, preventive measures and family considerations.
Her clinical philosophy combines the personal relationship of traditional family practice with contemporary preventive medicine, diagnostics, dermatological care and selected aesthetic treatments.
After more than three decades of community practice, her focus remains the same: providing practical, personal and continuous medical care for patients and families throughout the different stages of life.
