Our services

Pre-travel Consultation & Travel Vaccines

Walk-in / By appointment

The doctor looks at where you are going, for how long, what you will be doing and your health, then advises on the vaccines, medicines and precautions you need.

Try to come 4–8 weeks before you travel, as some vaccines need several doses or time to work. If you are leaving soon, come anyway: the doctor can tell you which vaccines can still be given and how long they take to protect you, as protection is not immediate.

  • Review of your itinerary, activities and health conditions
  • Check of your past vaccines
  • Travel vaccines such as hepatitis A, hepatitis B and meningococcal
  • Malaria and altitude sickness prevention
  • Advice on food, water, insect bites and animal bites
  • Travel medicines and a letter for your medicines where needed

How it works

  1. Before you come

Bring your itinerary, travel dates, vaccination records and a list of your medicines.

  2. Risk assessment

The doctor goes through your destinations, activities and health, and explains the risks that apply to your trip.

  3. Vaccines and medicines

Vaccines in stock can usually be given at the same visit. Any tablets you need are prescribed, with instructions on when to take them.

  4. Follow-up doses

If a vaccine needs more than one dose, you are given the dates for the next ones.

Malaria, Altitude & Travel Sickness Prevention

Walk-in / By appointment

Whether you need malaria tablets depends on your exact destination, the season and the type of trip. The doctor chooses a medicine suited to the area and checks it is safe with your health and other medicines.

If you are travelling to high altitude, the doctor explains how to ascend safely and whether medicine to help prevent altitude sickness is suitable for you. Advice and medicines for motion sickness are also available.

  • Malaria risk check for your destination
  • Malaria prevention tablets where needed
  • Advice on avoiding mosquito bites
  • Altitude sickness prevention for treks and high-altitude trips
  • Motion sickness advice and medicines
  • Check for interactions with your other medicines

Illness After Travel

Walk-in

A fever after travel to a malaria area needs to be checked the same day, even weeks after you return. The doctor asks where you have been and examines you, and arranges tests such as blood tests for malaria, dengue or other infections.

Our Sengkang clinic is open 24 hours, so you can be seen day or night. If you need hospital care, the doctor arranges it without delay.

  • Fever after travel
  • Diarrhoea, vomiting and stomach upsets
  • Rashes and insect bite reactions
  • Blood tests for malaria, dengue and other infections
  • Referral to hospital when needed

Yellow Fever, Rabies & Specialist Travel Referral

Walk-in / By appointment

Yellow fever vaccination is given only at designated centres. If your trip needs it, we refer you to one, and check the timing with your other travel vaccines.

If you will be at risk of animal bites, we can arrange rabies vaccination before you travel through a partner provider. After a bite or scratch from an animal that may carry rabies, wash the wound with soap and water for 15 minutes and get medical help the same day. We assess you and, where treatment is needed, refer you urgently.

  • Referral to a designated yellow fever vaccination centre
  • Rabies vaccination before travel, arranged with a partner provider
  • Urgent assessment and referral after an animal bite
  • Referral to a travel medicine specialist for complex trips or health needs

Go to A&E or call 995 instead if
